You're welcome. I would be honored for you to link back to my pattern. Thank you for all you do for the most vulnerable of this world.
I am not sure what I am doing wrong I am a beginning knitter - so I would appreciate any help
In row 6 I have. 65 stitches.
I start with 37. Take off 5 each end. = 27 double this for increase = 54. + the 10 = 64
. After increasing one stitch knit one Knit 5 at begging knit 5 at end. But the pattern says 51

51 is the correct number. Read carefully and mind the punctuation. The part of the pattern between the * is an increase in every other stitch, I think you are increasing in every stitch.
Row 6: K5, * increase 1 in next st, K1, repeat from * to last 6 sts, end with increase 1, K5. (51 sts)
Hope this helps you!

Thank you so much - I can't believe I am actually learning as I go along and it is looking lovely - I have just gone past casting of the sleeve and joining under arm have done two rows of the main body part
For my grand daughter I think she will love it

Thank you so much for all your lovely patterns. I have knit quite a few of these vests and donated them to a local unwed mothers home. I have also knit one for my youngest granddaughter for Christmas and would like to do one for her older sister but don't know how to resize it for a five year old. I'm terrible at math but would appreciate any help you could give me.Thanks again for all your free patterns that are so easy to follow. TTFN Polly
I don't know how big a 5 year old is, so can't really help much. I know my 7 hour sweater fit a 5 year old by making the body length and sleeves longer.
