COME ON BABY LET’S DO THE TWIST SLEEP SACK AND CAP

SIZE: 
18 (unstretched) inch circumference by 18 inch length

MATERIALS:          
Worsted weight yarn approximately 6 ounces (sleep sack and cap)
US size 10.5 (6.5 mm) 16 inch circular knitting needle
US size 10.5 (6.5 mm) double point needles for cap
US I (5.5 mm) crochet hook
Tapestry needle
Marker

GAUGE:
Approximately 16 sts = 4 inches

NOTES:
  1. Sleep sack in photo was knit using Caron One Pound in Persimmon
 INSTRUCTIONS:
Cast on 84 sts using a stretchy cast on. 

Place marker and begin working in the round.

Rounds 1-6:  *K1, p1.  Repeat from * around.

Rounds 7-9
: *K3 p3.  Repeat from * around.
Rounds 10-12:  P1, *k3 p3. Repeat from * around.  End with p2.
Rounds 13-15:  
P2, *k3 p3. Repeat from * around.  End with p1.
Rounds 16-18:  P3, *k3 p3.  Repeat from * around.  End with k3.
Rounds 19-21:  
K1, p3, *k3 p3. Repeat from * around.  End with k2.
Rounds 22-24:  
K2, p3, *k3 p3.  Repeat from * around.  End with k1.

Repeat rounds 7-24 until sleep sack measures about 16 inches from cast on edge.

Next round:  Knit.

Next round:  *K9, yo, k2tog, k8, yo, k2tog.  Repeat from * around.  (8 yo)

Next round:  Knit.

Next 6 rounds:  K1, p1.  Repeat around.

Next round: Knit.
Bind off knitwise.

SIZE: 12-14 inches

NOTES: 
  1. Change to double point needles when necessary.
  2. Cap in photo was knit using Caron One Pound in Persimmon.

MATERIALS:
Worsted weight yarn approximately 1 ounce cap only
US size 10.5 (6.5 mm) 16 inch circular knitting needle
US size 10.5 (6.5 mm) double pointed needles
Tapestry needle
Marker

INSTRUCTIONS:
With 16 inch needle, cast on 48 sts. Join and work in the round.

Place marker to denote beginning of round.

Rounds 1-5:  *K1, p1.  Repeat from * around.  (48 sts)

Rounds 6-8
: *K3 p3.  Repeat from * around.
Rounds 9-11: P1, *k3 p3. Repeat from * around.  End with p2.
Rounds 12-14:
P2, *k3 p3. Repeat from * around.  End with p1.
Rounds 15-17: P3, *k3 p3.  Repeat from * around.  End with k3.
Rounds 18-20:
K1, p3, *k3 p3. Repeat from * around.  End with k2.
Rounds 21-23:
K2, p3, *k3 p3.  Repeat from * around.  End with k1.

Begin decrease rounds.

Round 24: 
*K3, p1, p2tog.  Repeat from * around.  (40 sts)
Round 25:  
*K3, p2.  Repeat from * around.  (40 sts)
Round 26: 
* K3, p2tog.  Repeat from * around.  (32 sts)
Round 27:   
Knit.  (32 sts)
Round 28:  *K2, k2tog. Repeat from * around.   (24 sts)
Round 29: 
*K1, k2tog.  (16 sts)
Round 30:  *K2tog.  Repeat from * around.  (8 sts)
Round 31: 
*K2tog.  Repeat from * around.  (4 sts)

Finish in one of these two ways:

1.  Cut yarn leaving a 6 inch tail.  Use tapestry needle to run yarn tail through the stitches and pull to close. 

Weave in ends. 

2.  Optional I Cord Knot.

Knit inch I Cord with the remaining 4 stitches.

Cut yarn leaving a 6 inch tail.

Use tapestry needle to run yarn tail through the stitches and pull to close. 
Now run yarn down the center of the I Cord.

Tie I Cord in a knot.

Weave in ends.
