SUZIE’S ONE BALL RUFFLED WRIST COZIES




Two ruffles peek out of your jacket cuff.

SIZES:
Women’s small 5.5-6 inch wrist measurement (medium 6.5-7 inch)

MATERIALS:
Patons Super Wool 50g, or other worsted weight yarn
Crochet hook size I (5.5 mm)

GAUGE:
5 rows = 2 inches


NOTES:
1. These can be made smaller or larger by changing the length of the beginning chain. Just use an even number of chains.
2. I crocheted some out of DK weight and an H hook. Next I'm going to try sports weight and a F hook.

INSTRUCTIONS:



Chain 22 (26) join with slipstitch in first chain.


Round 1: Ch 3 (counts as first dc), dc in each ch around. Join with a slipstitch around the first dc (ch 3) as if to fpdc. 22 (26 sts)


Rounds 2-6: Ch 3 (counts as first fpdc), *bpdc around next stitch, fpdc around next stitch. Repeat around. Join with slipstitch as if to fpdc. Fasten off. 22 (26 sts)


RUFFLED EDGE:


RE-Round 1: Attach yarn with a sc in any unused loop of beginning chain. S c in each chain around. Join with a slipstitch in the back loop of first sc. (26 sts)


RE-Round 2: Working in the back loop only for this round. Ch 4, *dc, ch 1, dc, ch 1, in same stitch as join. *Dc, ch 1, dc, ch 1, dc, ch 1 in next stitch. Repeat from * around. Join with a slipstitch in 3th chain of ch 4. Slipstitch in chains 2, and 1 of beginning chain 4. Slipstitch in front loop of first sc of round 1.


RE-Round 3: Working in the front loop only for this round. Ch 4, *dc, ch 1, dc, ch 1, in same stitch as slipstitch. *Dc, ch 1, dc, ch 1,dc, ch 1 in next stitch. Repeat from * around. Join with a slipstitch in 3rd chain of ch 4.


Fasten off and weave in ends.

Looking at the pic posted and thinking of something someone gave me, the thought occurred to me that this pattern would make a pretty candle holder. Just have the ruffled part on the bottom and place a candle in. Pretty, pretty

This also makes a really pretty candle holder.
 
I think this is pretty,and would like to make a set. but not understanding all of the abbrivations.Such as the FPDC and BPDC.
 
FPDC = front post double crochet
BPDC = back post double crochet
