SUZIE’S GIRLIE BEANIE




SIZES:
Adult 20 inch
Tween 18 inch
Child 16 inch
Infant 14 inch

MATERIALS:
Worsted weight yarn
Main color approximately 2 - 3 ounces depending on size
Plus a small amount of contrasting yarn


I (5.5 mm) crochet hook (if you crochet loosely use a H hook)
Yarn needle

NOTES:
1. Read instructions all the way through before beginning.
2. Beginning chain 2 does not count as a dc.
3. When joining with a slip stitch, pull the slip stitch tight.

ADULT

Chain 4 and join to form a loop.

ROUND 1: Ch 2, 12 dc in loop, join with a slipstitch in first dc. (12 dc)

ROUND 2: Ch 2, 2 dc in each st, join with a slipstitch in first dc. (24 dc)


ROUND 3: Ch 2, (dc in next st, 2 dc in next st) repeat around, join with a slipstitch in first dc. (36 dc)


ROUND 4: Ch 2, (dc in next 2 sts, 2 dc in next st) repeat around, join with a slipstitch in first dc. (48 dc)

ROUND 5: Ch 1, sc in each st, join with a slipstitch in first sc. (48 sc)


ROUND 6: Ch 1, sc in each st, join with a slipstitch in first sc. (48 sc)

ROUND 7: Ch 2, (dc in 3 sts, 2 dc in next st) repeat around, join with a slipstitch in first dc. (60 dc)


ROUND 8: Ch 1, sc in each st, join with a slipstitch in first sc. (60 sc)


ROUND 9: Ch 1, sc in each st, join with a slipstitch in first sc. (60 sc)


ROUND 10: Ch 2, (dc in 9 sts, 2 dc in next st) repeat around, join with a slipstitch in first dc. (66 dc)

ROUND 11: Ch 1, sc in each st, join with a slipstitch in first sc. (66 sc)


ROUND 12: Ch 1, sc in each st, join with a slipstitch in first sc. (66 sc)

ROUND 13: Ch 1, dc in each st, join with a slipstitch in first dc. (66 dc)

ROUND 14: Ch 1, sc in each st, join with a slipstitch in first sc. (66 sc)


ROUND 15: Ch 1, sc in each st, join with a slipstitch in first sc. (66 sc)

ROUND 16: Ch 1, sc in same st as slipstitch. *Ch 1, skip 1 st, sc in next st. Repeat from * around. Ch 1 and join with a slipstitch in first sc. (33 sc)

ROUND 17: Ch 1, sc in each st, and each ch 1 space, join with a slipstitch in first sc. (66 sc)

ROUND 18: Ch 1, rev sc in each st, do not join.


Fasten off and use your yarn needle to close the round. (66 sts)

TIE:
With contrasting yarn chain 62, work a slipstitch around first sc of round 16, ch 62.


Fasten off.

Weave the two ends of the chains in and out of round 16 and tie in a bow.


TWEEN

Chain 4 and join to form a loop.

ROUND 1: Ch 2, 12 dc in loop, join with a slipstitch in first dc. (12 dc)

ROUND 2: Ch 2, 2 dc in each st, join with a slipstitch in first dc. (24 dc)

ROUND 3: Ch 2, (dc in next st, 2 dc in next st) repeat around, join with a slipstitch in first dc. (36 dc)

ROUND 4: Ch 2, (dc in next 2 sts, 2 dc in next st) repeat around, join with a slipstitch in first dc. (48 dc)

ROUND 5: Ch 1, sc in each st, join with a slipstitch in first sc. (48 sc)

ROUND 6: Ch 1, sc in each st, join with a slipstitch in first sc. (48 sc)

ROUND 7: Ch 2, (dc in 3 sts, 2 dc in next st) repeat around, join with a slipstitch in first dc. (60 dc)

TIE:
With contrasting yarn chain 60, work a slipstitch around first sc of round 13, ch 60.


Fasten off.

Weave the two ends of the chains in and out of round 13 and tie in a bow.


CHILD

Chain 4 and join to form a loop, ch 2 (don’t count as a dc of the next round)

ROUND 1: 12 dc in loop, join with a slipstitch in top of first dc. (12 dc)

ROUND 2: Ch 2, 2 dc in ea st, join with a slipstitch In first dc. (24 dc)


ROUND 3: Ch 2, (dc in next st, 2 dc in next st) repeat around, join with a slipstitch in first dc. (36 dc)


ROUND 4: Ch 2, (dc in next 2 sts, 2 dc in next st) repeat around, join with a slipstitch in first dc. (48 dc)

ROUND 5: Ch 1, sc in each st, join with a slipstitch. in top of first sc. (48 sc)


ROUND 6: Ch 1, sc in each st, join with a slipstitch in first sc. (48 sc)

ROUND 7: Ch 2, (dc in 11 st, 2 dc in next st) repeat around, join with a slipstitch in first dc. (52 dc)

I don't understand how to make the tie - slipstitch around ch 13? How did you get the ends of the tie to look like the ends of shoelaces?
 
The slipstitch around the sc is so that when the tie comes untied it won't pull out of the eyelet round.

The ends of the tie look like the ends of shoelaces because they are trimmed about half an inch long after weaving in and out of the eyelet round.
 
What is rev single stitch I have never seen this before
 
Reverse single crochet is just working a single crochet stitch from left to right, instead of right to left. I makes a nice edge.
 
I love your hats the little girls granny with the riffle was excellent I made it bigger and now making for women to give to charity
I have made at least 3 or 4 of your patterns they are all great keep up the good work
