MY SCRUBBER

MY SCRUBBER

MATERIALS:
Worsted weight crochet cotton
Nylon scrubber
H crochet hook

INSTRUCTIONS:
Back of scrubber

Chain 3 or 4 and join in a ring with slip stitch.

Round 1: Ch 3, 11 dc in ring, join in top of ch 3 with slip stitch (12dc)

Round 2: Ch 3, dc in next dc (I always do this because the ss always seems like a stitch when you get back to it) 2 dc in each dc around dc in ss and join with ss in top of chain 3 (24 dc)

Round 3: Ch 3, * dc in next dc, 2dc in next dc* repeat around ending with slip stitch in top of ch 3 (36 dc) Fasten off

Front of scrubber

Round 1: Choose the “best” side of the scrubber, work sc around trying to come out with 36 sc (you can fudge it about 3 stitches either way 33 to 39) join with a slipstitch in first sc.

Round 2: Ch 1 and holding the circle you already made behind the scrubber working through both the sc of the scrubber and the dc of the circle, work a sc in each stitch around, join with a slip stitch in first sc. (36)
Round 3: Ch 1 sc in first sc, {skip one sc and work 5 dc in next sc, skip next sc and sc in next sc} repeat around. Join with a slipstitch in first sc.
Fasten off and weave in ends.

Love this pattern. Have made several of these to give as part of a kitchen set. Thank you for such a creative idea.

Hi Suzetta, fellow CP member. Just wanted to say THIS is awesomeness. Haven't made one yet (gotta buy a scrubbie or twelve), but I will. And the next granny afghan I make will be a rectangle. *grin* Thank you so much for posting the fruits of your labor for free.

Thanks for your kind words.

I am so excited to find this pattern! I saw one of these scrubbers at someone's house (I was there for a meeting and don't really know the hostess) and have been on the lookout for this for about 6 months now. I'm loving all of your practical patterns, as well as, the fun ones. Thank you for making all of these available!
