SIMPLE SCRUNCHIE

SIMPLE SCRUNCHIE

MATERIALS:Chunky Weight yarn, approximately .5 ounces
J (6.0 mm) crochet hook
Ouchless (no metal) ponytail elastic, 1.25 (1.5) inch diameter
Tapestry needle

NOTES:

1. Read instructions all the way though before beginning.
2. If you want to use the longer elastic sc the number of stitches to cover the elastic, don’t stretch the elastic as you work over it.
3. I used Bernat Softee Chunky.

INSTRUCTIONS:
Attach yarn around elastic with a sc. *Ch 9, sc around elastic. Repeat from * around. You want to fill the elastic, but not stretch it. I made 24 sc on the 1.5 inch elastic. End with ch 9, fasten off. Use your tapestry needle to join in the first sc.

With beginning and ending tails tie a tight knot. Rather than weave in the ends, put a drop of glue on the knot. After the glue dries trim the ends about ¼ inch away from knot.
Of course if you want to you can weave in the ends.

Comments:
