FAST AND FUN BUTTONHOLE SCARF

FAST AND FUN BUTTONHOLE SCARF

If you are anything like me, you have a stash of Fun Fur or similar yarns. Seems the skinny fuzzy scarf is passé, but by combining Fun Fur with Homespun [category 5] and a buttonhole you will be up to date.

Knit on large needles [I recommend wood or bamboo] this scarf is a quick knit.

MATERIALS:
Lion Brand Fun Fur (about 50 yards)
Lion Brand Homespun (about 50 yards)
Size 17 (12.75 mm) needles

NOTES:
1. Scarf is knit with one strand of each yarn held together.
2. I find it easiest to knit with these yarns on wood or bamboo needles.
3. Using a small knitting needle pick out the little lashes for a fuller look.
4. One skein of Homespun and two balls of Fun Fur is enough to knit 3 scarves.

INSTRUCTIONS:

Cast on 10 sts holding both yarns as one.

Work in garter stitch (knit every row) for 9 inches.

Next row: K3, K2tog. Turn, cast on 2 sts with knitted cast on. Turn. K2tog, K3. (10 sts)

Work in garter stitch for 30 inches.

Work will measure about 40 inches from cast on edge.

Bind off loosely and weave in ends.

To wear, place opposite end through the hole created by the K2togs and the cast on stitches.
