LITTLE TREASURE BAG (C)
MATERIALS:
Worsted weight yarn
Four 6x4mm opaque glass crow beads with a large hole (optional)
H (5.0 mm) crochet hook
Yarn needle
APPROXIMATE SIZE:
5 inches deep and 6.5 inches across the opening
NOTES:
Read instructions through before beginning.
Pull joining slip stitch tight, you want it to almost disappear.
Small pony beads can be used instead of the glass crow beads.
INSTRUCTIONS:
Round 1: Ch 2, 6 sc in second chain from hook. Join with a slipstitch in first sc. (6 sts)
Round 2: Ch 1, 2 sc in each st. Join with a slipstitch in first sc. (12 sts)
Round 3: Ch 1, *2 sc in next st, sc in next st, repeat from * around. Join with a slipstitch in first sc. (18 sts)
Round 4: Ch 1, *2 sc in next st, sc in next 2 sts, repeat from * around. Join with a slipstitch in first sc. (24 sts)
Round 5: Ch 1, *2 sc in next st, sc in next 3 sts, repeat from * around. Join with a slipstitch in first sc. (30 sts)
Round 6: Ch 1, *2 sc in next st, sc in next 4 sts, repeat from * around. Join with a slipstitch in first sc. (36 sts)
Round 7: Ch 1, *2 sc in next st, sc in next 5 sts, repeat from * around. Join with a slipstitch in first sc. (42 sts)
Round 8: Ch 1, *sc in next 6 sts, 2 sc in next st, repeat from * around. Join with a slipstitch in first sc. (48 sts)
Round 9-17: Ch 1, sc in each st. Join with a slipstitch in first sc. (48 sts)
Round 18: Ch 3, * skip 1 st, ch 1, dc in next st, repeat from * around. Ch 1, join with a slipstitch in second ch of beginning ch 3.
Fasten off, weave in ends.
DRAWSTRINGS: (make 2)
Leaving about a 4 inch tail, ch 60, fasten off leaving a 4 inch tail.
FINISHING:
Weave drawstring in and out the openings in round 18. Tie the tails together, with an overhand knot, close to the chain. Weave second drawstring in and out openings, starting on opposite side from first drawstring. Tie the tails together, with an overhand knot, close to the chain.
OPTIONAL BEADS:
Place a bead on one of the tails of drawstring. Slide bead up to the overhand knot. Tie a knot, large enough to keep bead from sliding off, about an inch from the overhand knot, cut yarn about half an inch from the knot. Repeat on other three tails.

MY PAPERCLIP ICE SKATE ORNAMENT (C)
I've been making this little ornament since 1972, when we moved to Sparks, NV. We moved into a brand new home, just a few days before Christmas, and didn't have our decorations yet.
I had never liked the way the toe looked on any of the the patterns I'd seen, so came up with My version. Now 36 years later I'm sharing My Paperclip Ice Skate Ornament pattern with you.
MATERIALS:
Approximately 5 yards of worsted weight yarn
Approximately 1 ½ yards of fuzzy white yarn
G crochet hook
Two jumbo paper clips
NOTES:
1. Read instructions all the way through before beginning.
2. I used Bernat Soft Boucle for the "cuff" on the pair in the photo.
INSTRUCTIONS:
With the continuous wire of paper clip on bottom for blade and the larger loop to the right, attach yarn to paper clip with a slipstitch into the larger loop.
Always crochet over the beginning tails.
Row 1: Ch 2, 7 dc to end of paper clip (work first dc in the larger loop, work remain dc in smaller loop and around both wires). This row forms the foot of the skate.
Row 2: Ch 2, turn, Dc in 4 sts. This row forms the ankle of the skate.
Row 3: Ch 1 turn, sc in 4 sts. After last st, Ch 10, fasten off. On the second skate, only chain 8, so that the skates are offset after tying together.
Row 4: Join fuzzy white yarn with a sc in turning chain of row 3. Sc in 3 sts, 2 sc in last st.
Fasten off and weave in ends. If you crocheted over the tails you will only have the ending tail of the trim to weave in.
Repeat for the second skate and tie the two skates together with the tails of the ch 10 and ch 8.
MY BEAD CANDY CANE ORNAMENT (C)
6 inch bead candy cane
Size 10 crochet thread
Size 7 (1.65 mm) steel crochet hook
NOTES:
1. The cane in photo was crocheted with Royale Gold Metallic thread.
2. I bought the bead candy canes at Dollar Tree.
3. After tying the ends together I put a speck of glue on the knot.
INSTRUCTIONS:
Before beginning remove the hanging thread, if your candy cane has one. Save it to put back on when the candy cane is completed.
Row 1: Starting at bottom of candy cane sc between first two beads. *Ch 3, sc between next two beads. Repeat from * until the candy cane starts curving then ch 4 between beads.
Row 2: Ch 1, turn, slipstitch in first sc. *6 dc in first ch 4 loop, slipstitch in sc. Repeat from * until you get to the ch 3 loops then 5 dc in loops, with the slipstitch between in the sc.
Fasten off. Tie the two tails together and weave ends under the base of the dc.
Put the gold thread back on for hanging.

INSTRUCTIONS:
TAIL: Ch 85, slipstitch in 5th st from hook. Ch 1, turn, 6 sc in ring. Slipstitch around tail. Ch 80, slipstitch in ch 2 loop where cord started.
