Bargain Yarn
I had just about decided to donated it to the Goodwill, then I decided that maybe if I worked with it long ways and cast on with something else I could manage to use it. Well, now I'm in love with this yarn. It is so soft and colorful it really is a delight to the eyes.
The pattern that follows, Super Bulky and Worsted Weight Scarf, is how I am using up my "bargain" yarn. There are other Super Bulky yarns (gauge 6) and I can't wait to give some of them a go. But first I have 9 more balls of Ci Ci to use up.
SUPER BULKY AND WORSTED WEIGHT SCARF

I edited it because the scarf I knit today I ran out of the Ci Ci before I finished the last row if it. Also by knitting an even number of rows of each yarn you can just carry it up the end and not cut. Lots fewer ends to weave in that way. AND we all know that's a good thing.
Size: 5 inches X 58 inches, excluding fringeMaterials:
Worsted weight about 2 ounces (I used Red Heart Super Saver)
Super Bulky weight 1 ball 36 yards (I used Paton’s Ci Ci)
US 15 needles
I crochet hook (for fringe)
With worsted weight cast on 110
Rows 1-4: With WW (worsted weight) knit
Rows 5-6: With SB (super bulky) knit
Rows 7-10: With WW knit
Rows 11-12: With SB knit
Rows 13-16: With WW Knit
Rows 17-18: With SB knit
Rows 19-22: With WW knit
Bind off loosely with WW, do not fasten off.
Fringe:
Row 1: Insert I hook in loop remaining from bind off. Ch 1, sc 15-18 times evenly across narrow end.
Row 2: Ch 1, sc in each stitch across.
Row 3: Ch 15 slipstitch in next stitch, repeat across. Fasten off and weave in ends.
On opposite end, join yarn with a slipstitch.
Row 1: Ch 1, sc 15-18 times evenly across narrow end.
Row 2: Ch 1, sc in each stitch across.
Row 3: Ch 15 slipstitch in next stitch, repeat across. Fasten off and weave in ends.

MY JULY TRIANGLE SCARF
Approximate Size: 44 inches wide and 15 inches deep
Gauge: unimportant but approximately 8 sts = 4 inches
Materials:
Lion Brand Fancy Fur 2 balls 39 yards each
Caron Simply Soft 78 yards
¾ inch or larger button that will fit through stitches
Size 19 (15.0 mm) circular needle (you need the circular needle to accommodate the large number of stitches)
Scarf instructions:
Work holding together one strand of each yarn throughout.
Cast on 3 stitches.
Work in garter stitch, increase 1 st at beginning and end of each row. Increase by knitting into front and back of stitch.
Repeat until 69 stitches are on needle. Bind off all stitches loosely.
Fasten off. Using the Simply Soft sew button to end of last row.
Weave in ends.
To button scarf put the button through stitches on other end of last row.

PREEMIE STUFF

Size "G" Crochet hook
Pattern Stitches:
Ch = Chain
Sc = Single Crochet
Dc = Double crochet
Fpdc = Front post double crochet
Bpdc = Back post double crochet
Beanie Instructions:
Ch. 5, slip stitch in 1st ch to form ring.
Round 1: Ch 2 (does not counts as first dc), 12 dc in ring. Join with slipstitch in top of first dc. (12 dc)
Round 2: Ch 2 (does not counts as first dc), 2 dc in same st, 2 dc in each dc around. Join with slipstitch in top of first dc. (24 dc)
Round 3: Ch 2 (does not counts as first dc), (dc in next st, 2 dc in next dc) around. Join with slipstitch on top of first dc. (36 dc)
Round 4: Ch 2 (does not counts as first dc), dc in each st. Join with slipstitch around the first dc as if to front post. (36 dc)
Rounds 5-9: Ch 2 (counts as first fpdc), *bpdc around next st, fpdc around next st. Repeat from * around. Join with slipstitch around first ch 2 as if to fp. (36 sts)
Fasten off and weave in

Cap is worked sideways in half double crochet rib to allow for stretch. The ribbon can start out in the lower row of eyelets and moved up to the top row to grow with the baby.
Materials:
Small amount of sports weight yarn
15 inches of ¼ inch ribbon (optional)
G (4.5MM) crochet hook
Gauge: 9 sc = 2", 5 hdc rows = 2"
Note: Ch 2 at beg of hdc rows does not count as a stitch.
CAP
Ch 22 (24).
Row 1: Sc in second ch from hook and in ea ch across (21 (23)sc)
From now on work all rows in the BLO (back loop only).
Row 2: Ch 1, turn, sc in first 2 sc, ch 1, skip 1 sc, sc in next 2 sc, (skipped stitch forms eyelet), ch 1, skip 1 sc, sc in next sc, hdc in next 14 sc (21 (23) sts)
Row 3: Ch 2, turn, hdc in 14 hdc, sc in next 7 sts (21 sts)
Row 4: Ch 1, turn, sc in first 2 sc, ch 1, skip 1 sc, sc in next 2 st, ch1, skip 1, sc in next st, hdc in hdc across (21 (23) sts)
Rows 5-26: Repeat rows 3 and 4.
Joining: Ch 1 and turn, holding beginning row together with last row, slipstitch through both thicknesses to a form tube, (you will be going under three loops one on the back and two on the front).
Cut yarn and fasten off.
Weave in ends.
Finishing:
Weave ribbon or chain about 15 inches and weave through holes formed by eyelets. Gather top of hat, and tie in bow.
