cushy, so used two strands yarn. Have
taken several to our Humane Society and they were happy to receive them.

I wouldn’t use this technique for anything

CROCHET CAT MAT
CROCHET CAT MAT
I
wanted the mats to be nice and cushy, so used two strands of yarn held together . I have taken several to our Humane Society and
they were happy to receive them. I tied the small balls together using the double knot. I wouldn't use this technique for other things, but for this project it seems okay.
Notes:
1 I tied the partial skeins together using this tutorial:
With only a ch 1 turning, you’ll need to pay close attention where the last stitch goes. Until you get used to it you might like to mark the first stitch. Using the ch 1 makes a more even edge than if you did a ch 2.
Materials:
Worsted
weight (4) yarn, about 120 grams worked with two strands held together.
US
size L (8.0mm) crochet hook
Size: Approximately
15 inches square
Gauge: Unimportant
Chain 32
Row 1: 1 dc in 4th ch from hook, 1 dc in
each remaining ch across. (30 sts)
Row 2: Ch 1 and turn, sc in each st across. (30 sts)
Row 3: Ch 1 and turn, dc in each st across. (30 sts)
Repeat rows 2 and 3, until mat
is desired size. It took 23 rows for
mine.
Fasten off and weave in ends.
