PRETTY IN PINK CAP

SIZES: Baby 12-14
MATERIALS:
Worsted weight yarn approximately 1.25 ounces
US size 10 (6
mm) 16 inch circular knitting needle
US size 10 (6 mm) double point needles
Tapestry needle
Marker
US size 10 (6 mm) double point needles

NOTES:
- Read instructions through before beginning.
- Use size 9 (5.5) needles for the light weight
worsted yarn, like Pound of Love, Simply Soft and Caron Jumbo Prints.
- The cap in photo was knit with Caron Wintuk.
INSTRUCTIONS:
With 16 inch needle,
cast on 48 sts. Join and work in the round.
Place marker to
designate beginning of round.
Round 1:
*K2, P2. Repeat from * to
marker. (48 sts)
Repeat round 1
until cap measures 3 inches from cast on edge.
Rounds 2-3: *K6, P2.
Repeat from * around to marker.
(48 sts)
Rounds 4-5: K. (48 sts)
Rounds 6-7: K2, *P2, K6.
Repeat from * to last 6 sts, P2, K4.
(48 sts)
Rounds 8-9: K. (48 sts)
Repeat rounds 2-9 twice, cap should measure about 7 inches from
cast on edge.
Begin decreases:
Switch to double points when necessary.
Dec Round 1:
*K2, K2tog, K2, P2. Repeat from *
around. (42 sts)
Dec Round 2: *K5,
P2. Repeat from * around. (42 sts)
This is where I
switch to double points.
Dec Round 3: *K3,
K2tog, K2. Repeat from * around. (36 sts)
Dec Round 4: K.
(36 sts)
Dec Round 5: *K2tog,
P2, K2. Repeat from * around. (30 sts)
Dec Round 6: *K1,
P2tog, K2. Repeat from * around. (24 sts)
Dec Round 7:
*K2, K2tog. Repeat from *
around. (18 sts)
Dec Round 8:
*K1, K2tog. Repeat from *
around. (12 sts)
Dec Round 9:
*K2tog. Repeat from *
around. (6 sts)
Cut yarn, weave
end through remaining 6 sts. Draw tight and weave in end.

Thank you for the pattern, made it yesterday for my grand daughter! Do you have a cardigan sweater to match it?
Since I don't like sewing a seam and weaving in more ends than necessary...NOPE no patterns for knitting flat and seaming on this blog.
I just knitted this flat - all you need to do is remember to purl when the wrong side is facing and keep an eye on the pattern on the right side. It wasn’t difficult.
