Next round:  *K8 , yo, K2tog.  Repeat from * around.  (8 yo)

Next round:  Knit.

Next 6 rounds:  *K2, P2.  Repeat from * around.

Bind off knitwise.

DRAWSTRING:
Leaving a 5 inch tail, using an I hook chain 90 (100).  Slipstitch in the back bump of the 2nd chain from hook and each remaining chain.  Fasten off leaving a 5 inch tail.

Cut two 10 inch lengths of yarn, fold in half, pull loop through the end of the drawstring with the tails.  Pull all the ends through the loop and pull tight forming a tassel.

Cut three 10 inch lengths of yarn, fold in half, pull loops through the opposite end of the drawstring and pull tight.

Weave drawstring in and out of the eyelets.  Pull to close and tie bow.

FINISHING:

Weave in any remaining ends.

Pull the ribbon through the ribbing at the join and tie a bow.  I like to use a needle and thread to sew a couple stitches through the bow so it doesn’t come untied.

Comments:
That's very cute. One of these days I'll be making one. Thanks Suzie.

I'll be making this for my first grand child due this November! thanks so much!

Do you have a hat pattern to match this or can you tell us what hat pattern we could use for a match

I do have one just not posted yet. I will work on getting it posted. Check back tomorrow.

Having a brain freeze. When I end with Row 2 does that mean after I complete my last row 2 start Round 1 or start Round 1 after last row 1?

Row 2, then start round 1.

Thank you! This is a great pattern. I am a new knitter and am partial to knitting with circular needles and in the round. I hate sewing seams, and I look forward to trying some of your other patterns. Thanks again.

Hi Suzette. First of all thank you for posting this beautiful collard sleep sack. I think I have a correction. I believe the very beginning should be row 1 - k2,p2. Repeat for 5 inches. That's how I had to do it otherwise it doesn't turn out the same way. If I do row 2 with p2,k2 it's completely different. Please let me know what I am not seeing. I am a fairly new knitter and maybe I'm reading something wrong.

Gina,
The pattern is written correctly. Not sure why it doesn't work for you. Are you working the first 5 inches in rows? If you are working it in rounds it won't be collared like the photo.

Hi Suzetta. I am knitting with circular needles but not in the round yet until I knit 5 inches. I don't understand why I had to do it this way. Thanks.

Suzetta I think I know what happened. I forgot that I added 10 stitches to make it wider. I guess I figured it out wrong as to how many stitches to add on to make a little bigger. Can you help me with this please? I don't know how many stitches to add to make a little wider?
Thank you

Rows aren't worked in the round, so the first 5 inches are turned after completing each ROW.

When adding additional cast on stitches you need to add a number that keeps it in pattern. For this pattern that would be 10s, but also divisible by 4. I advise you choose a different pattern if this one isn't large enough for your purposes.
