I love the colour in the blanket :)

Hi, I just came across your pattern for the dishcloth baby blanket and I have a question to ask of you. I have made several dishcloths using grandma's favorite dishcloth pattern but yours is different. Why are you having to turn on several rows in decreasing the pattern to finish? I have not seen this before using this pattern. Thanks in advance. Denise

I've always been bothered that the starting and finishing didn't look the same, so have played around with it many times. Still not perfectly alike top and bottom, but as close as I have come.

I have posted it as a dishcloth as well. Try it I think you will like the results.

What do you mean by "turn" in rows 4 & 5?
Thank you.
Holly

Turn as if you were at the end of the row.

I'm with anonymous in previous comment. Rows 4 & 5 on the decrease side don't make sense. I have been making these dishcloths for several months and none of the patterns I have seen have the turning instructions in them. Would appreciate a more detailed explanation, (maybe pictures?) showing this step since I plan to knit this for a nephews baby. If no answer will probably do the way I do the dishcloths. Thank you in advance.

If you want to do it your way I'm not going to diss you. I think doing it the way I posted it makes a nicer corner.

Sorry! I just looked at your dishcloth pattern. Seeing that close up I had an "aha moment" and will try it.

I just took a look at your dishcloth blanket and would love to try it but i was just wondering how you do the turn on rows 4 and 5 so if you could let me know i would be extremely grateful thanks

Just work the stitches and turn and work back the other way. It makes a more square corner than the traditional "dishcloth".

Thanks for that explaination. I am neww to knitting and didnt understand the turns. Will start it and with yarn in hand it will probably make more sense to me!
