SUZIE'S 3 X 3 WALKER TOTES
There are three options for the tote portion of the Walker Totes. Also three options for the straps. Count them, that makes 9 possible combinations.
My personal goal is to make 50 of them before this Christmas.
WALKER TOTE - STRIPES (first photo above)
SIZE: 10 inches wide and 7 inches deep
MATERIALS:
Worsted weight yarn approximately 3.5 ounces
H (5.0 mm) crochet hook
Yarn needle
Stitch marker
Your choice of the following: Two 1 inch buttons, 2 inches of Velcro or 2 shower curtain rings
GAUGE: 7 sc = 2 inches
NOTES:
1. Read instructions through before beginning.
2. When working in rounds, without joining, mark the end of each round with a marker. A bobby pin is a good marker
3. When working rounds with joins, make the first stitch in the same stitch as join.
INSTRUCTIONS:
With main color; ch 27
ROUND 1: Make 2 sc in 2nd chain from hook, sc in each chain (24) to last chain, working over yarn tail for remainder of this round, 3 sc in last ch, work in opposite side of starting chain and sc in each of 25 chain stitches. DO NOT join rounds, place a marker in last st. [54 sc]

Lay tote flat with tabs on the bottom, place a marker in the top side (side without tabs) at the first left stitch of both tabs. There should be 15 sts between the markers.

Row 1: From the wrong side attach yarn with a sc in the right hand marked st. Sc in 5 sts. (6 sc)
Rows 2-7: Ch 1, turn. Sc across. (6 sc)
Row 8: (buttonhole round) Ch 1, turn. Sc in 2 sts, ch 2, skip 2 sts, sc in 2 sts. (6 sc)
Row 9: Ch 1, turn. Sc in 2 sts, sc in the 2 chs, sc in 2 sts. (6 sts)
Row 10: Ch 1, turn. Sc across. (6 sc)
Fasten off.
FOURTH TAB
Row 1: From the wrong side attach yarn with a sc in the marked st. Sc in 5 sts. (6 sc)
Rows 2-7: Ch 1, turn. Sc across. (6 sc)
Row 8: (buttonhole round) Ch 1, turn. Sc in 2 sts, ch 2, skip 2 sts, sc in 2 sts. (6 sts)

OPTIONAL TIES:
Chain 75 sts, tie should be about 18 inches. Use your hook to pull the tie through the tote at round 4.

Row 1: With side with strap facing you and to the left, count over 10 sts and place marker. With wrong side facing attach yarn with a sc in the 11th st. Sc in 5 sts. You will have 10 sts between the straps. (6 sc)

Sew Velcro to end of strap and on opposite side of caddy to correspond.

OPTIONAL TIES:

As a nurse that works with the "geriatric" crew - they will love these for their walkers! I'm definitely making these for gifts for the residents I used to work with! Thank you so much!!!
These are pretty cool. Betcha they could be used as "stroller totes" too for those smaller baby strollers. I've got a couple of cousins who absolutely loathe full diaper bags on thier morning/afternoon walks. The dimensions of the tote are big enough that it would accomodate what they'd need for a half an hour or so walk. Hunh. I really *like* your idea! Way cool and neat!

I made a smaller version of the walker tote for a friend of a friend in a wheelchair. She uses it to put her phone and other small things in. Thanks for the great pattern.
