ANOTHER MOCK CABLE SLEEP SACK AND HAT SET

This pattern is from guest designer; 
Virginia in Wenatchee WA

Virginia knits, crochets, tats and about any other fancy work you can name.   She makes most of her things for various charities that are close to her heart. 

Materials:
Knitting needle US size 10 ½ 24 inch circular
1 set double pointed needles US 10 ½
1 yarn needle used for hiding ends
Approximately  6 ounces worsted weight yarn, (I used Red Heart Super Saver)

Sleep sack:
Cast on 100 stitches, and careful to not twist sts, join.  Place marker on needle.
Work *K3, P2, ribbing around to marker for one inch.

Stitch Pattern: 
Round 1:  * sl 1, K2, psso, P2, repeat from * around to marker.
Round 2:  * K1, YO, K1, P2, repeat from* around to marker.
Round 3:  *K3, P2, repeat from * around.
Round 4:  Repeat round 3.

Work in pattern until piece measures 18-19 inches. End with round 1.  (80 sts)
Decrease round 1:  K2, P2 around to marker.  (80 sts)
Round 2: K2 tog, P2 tog around to marker.  (40 sts)
Round 3: K1, P1, around to marker.   (40 sts)
Round 4: K2 tog around to marker.   (20 sts)
Round 5: Knit every stitch around.  (20 sts)
Round 6:  K2 tog around.  (10 sts)

Cut yarn leaving a tail long enough to thread through needle and put through the remaining stitches.  Pull tight and finish off.
 



Mock cable hat
 Cast on 50 sts.  Join into circle careful to not twist stitches.  Place marker
Work in K3, P2 ribbing for 1 inch.

Work in pattern stitch until piece measures 5 inches, ending with round 1.
(40 sts)

Decrease round 1: K2, P2 around to marker.  (40 sts)
Round 2: K2 tog, P2 tog around to marker.  (20 sts)
Round 3: K1, P1 around to marker.  (20 sts)
Round 4: K2 tog around to marker.  (10 sts)
Round 5: K around to marker.  (10 sts)
Round 6: K2 tog around.  (5 sts)

Cut yarn with long tail and finish like above.
