Precious pattern but I am confused... I got the 49 stitches for row 1(yay)....then Row 2 - 21 DC but not understanding what to do next....
ReplyDelete2 dc in each of the next 7 stitches.
ReplyDeleteSo I am actually going around the entire first row?!
ReplyDeleteMaybe I should have not said all the way around...maybe like a "u".
ReplyDeleteSorry for being a doofus :) but I love this little hood and have tried other hoods and just can't seem to get them right and your seemed so easy when I read it!! I am actually trying it with rainbow colors!!!
That's what you did on row one.
ReplyDeleteNow you got it, yes a "U" shape. Rainbow colors will be great. Would love to see it when it is completed.
ReplyDeleteyou can send a photo to me at suzettaw98226@yahoo.com
What size would you cocider this to be , how old of a child I need for a 8 and 10 year old
ReplyDeleteChildren vary so much in size I couldn't say. However I gave measurements of each size pattern.
ReplyDeleteThe other sizes are listed in the sidebar.
ReplyDeleteI don't see a side bar but on a smart phone. I'm needing for a small framed 8 yr old and average size 8 yr old...would the pattern posted fit you think?
DeleteIs there a tutorial on this? It would be great if there is so I can follow along. Thanks☺️
ReplyDeleteSorry I don't do tutorials.
ReplyDeleteI'm seriously confused I did the fsc then all the way down to the 2 DC in the last stitch if row 1 I don't know what it means by 3 DC in end of row and along bottom idk I am seriously confused lol
ReplyDeleteThe end of the row, how about if we call it the side of the fsc? Then you work along the unused loop of the fsc. Hope that helps.
ReplyDeleteMy daughter requested a cowled hat for baby girl this winter do I adapted your great pattern here into this creation! Now I'm creating matching thumbless mittens... thanks for all you share!
ReplyDeleteI'm confused as well. I have dc across for the fsc, to where will the 2dc in the last st, end 3dc at the end of fsc go? There aren't enough stitches for that in the fsc row.
ReplyDeleteThose stitches go in the side of the indicated stitch.
ReplyDeleteWill I crochet continuing on around? I have an oval shape now.
ReplyDeleteOone end will be straight and the other curved. Just follow the instructions, one row at a time. Try not to overthink it..
ReplyDeleteI am not able to see the sizing for different ages. Could you post it or send it to me. I need it for an 8 yr old and a big 3 yr old. Thank you for your help. Michele
ReplyDeleteSorry, there is only one size.
ReplyDeleteMy brother and I do a charity function around Christmas every year I'm wondering if you would be okay with me using this pattern I will NOT be making a profit off of the scarfs they are given to women and children from the shelter
ReplyDeleteI'm always happy for people to use my patterns for charitable purposes.
ReplyDeleteVery easy to follow thank you. I get bored easily, so I turned the scarf bit into a balaclaver. Really pleased with the result.
ReplyDeleteEnjoyed making this.Im a learner crocheter but found it easy. Thanks for the pattern
ReplyDeleteI'm pleased you enjoyed the pattern. Try another of my patterns, most are beginner friendly.
ReplyDeleteHow would I modify this wonderful pattern for an adult? I want!
ReplyDeleteLook on the side bar that pattern is listed there.
ReplyDeleteIs the back loops in the first step of the scarf the straight side not the U shape right just go down the line
ReplyDeleteThe back loop is for the ribbing of the scarf portion.
ReplyDeleteProbably will fit, but I don't have any children so can't say for sure.
ReplyDeleteOk thanks! 🙂
DeleteIs it okay make this pattern and sell it? One of my customers have asked me to make it for them.
ReplyDeleteSince I no longer post things on Etsy that is okay.
ReplyDeleteI tried this pattern however it is way too small for a 2 year old, any ideas on how to fix it please?
ReplyDeleteWith worsted weight and an I hook it should have been plenty big for a 2 year old. My guess is you used a thinner yarn. You could always make one with the adult instructions.
ReplyDeleteWhere van I find the adult instructions? Please and thank you!
ReplyDeleteAll the patterns are listed in the sidebar, browse and you will see it there.
ReplyDeleteI do not understand the scarf portion....makes no sense to me :-\
ReplyDeleteI am totally confused by the scarf portion of the hooded scarf pattern..I got the hood done, now im stuck..
ReplyDeleteAdded shell st boarder around scarf and bottom of hood nice pattern thanks
