MATERIALS:
Small amount of worsted weight yarn
I (5.5 mm) crochet hook
NOTES:
1. Sample was crocheted with Red Heart Super Saver Mexicana and Bright Yellow
2. Rather than ties, a piece of elastic can be put through the loops and sewn.
GAUGE:
Unimportant, I made 11 clusters and the finished headband is 13 inches excluding ties.
SPECIAL STITCH:
Cluster (cl), (yo, insert hook in sp, yo, draw lp through, yo, draw through 2 lps on hook) 4 times, yo, draw through all 5 lps on hook.
INSTRUCTIONS:
Round 1: Ch 4, slipstitch in first ch to form ring, ch 3, cl in ring, *ch 4, cl in top of last cl made. Repeat from * until work is 2 inches less than desired length. Ch 4, slipstitch in top of last cl.
Fasten off.
Round 2: Join yarn with slipstitch in beginning ring. Ch 3, 4 dc in same ring, ch 1, 5 dc in ring. *3 dc in next space between cls. Repeat from * to loop on opposite end. 5 dc in ring, ch 1, 5 dc in ring. *3 dc in next space between cls. Repeat from * to end and join with a slip stitch in top of ch 3. Don’t fasten off.
TIES:
Slipstitch to first ch 1 space, *ch 45. Slipstitch in 2nd ch from hook and remaining chains. Slipstitch in ch 1 space. Fasten off.
Attach yarn with a slipstitch in ch 1 space and repeat from the * of first tie.
Weave in ends.
